When I met Zadie I had expressed to her that I wanted to “lose weight”. She asked me to show her what I was eating and needless to say I had it all wrong. I was severely restricting myself due to old belief systems and false narratives women are told on how to be fit. Severely restricting and lots of cardio was all that I knew. Self-esteem and body issues is something I struggled with for most of my life. Zadie completely shattered those beliefs and showed me that I can eat whole healthy meals and get the body I’ve always wanted. She gave me the resources to track my macros (protein, fat, carbs). She gave me countless of meals that not only keep me on track but are absolutely delicious. She showed me foundational weightlifting and explained to me how calories, protein, muscle building, and recovery all play into fitness. She showed me that it’s not about the weight on the scale, it’s about fueling my body, healing false beliefs, and feeling strong, not skinny. Zadie even looked at my eating and was able to point out and tweak what I still needed to work on. She showed me it’s not about yoyo diets, but making a fundamental lifestyle change.
Having a woman of God who is not only extremely knowledgeable about health but views the fitness journey incredibly imbedded to our spiritual lives is priceless. Zadie understands the struggles we go through as woman, and she deeply cares about improving self-esteem.
